Cowboy billiards is a unique billiard game that combines the rules of
both pocket billiards and carom billiards games. If you want to
learn how to play a different type of pool game, here you
can learn about the basics of the pool game cowboy billiards.
Generally, cowboy billiards rules can vary from one pool hall to another.
However, cowboy billiards games are often played according
to the official rules of pocket billiards, which also apply
to pool games such as 8-ball, 9-ball, etc.
The cowboy billiard game takes place on a standard pool table with six
pockets. There are three object balls: 1-ball, 3-ball and
5-ball, in addition to two cue balls, one for each player.
The object of the game is to be the first player who accumulates a score
of exactly 101 points. The unique thing about cowboy
billiards is that while the first 90 points can be scored
according to one set of rules, in order to score the final
11 points, you must follow different requirements.
The first 90 points can be scored by legally pocketing any object ball.
You gain 1 point for pocketing the 1-ball, 3 points for
pocketing the 3-ball and you can guess how many points you
can score for pocketing the 5-ball.
In addition, if you carom off two object balls, it will add 1 point to
your total score; but if you carom off three object balls,
you will be awarded with 2 extra points.
From the 91st point to the 100 point, the scoring
system changes; from now and until you get a point away from
victory, you will gain 2 points for caroming off two object
ball and 3 points for caroming all the three object balls.
In order to win the cowboy billiards game, you must score the 101 point.
How can you do it? simply by sinking the cue ball into a
designated pocket that was chosen in advance while caroming
off the 1-ball. Additionally, the cue ball must not make any
with another object ball on its path to that certain pocket.
